Allan Gardens (Carlton st, Toronto) Native Canadian art

Today (June 29, 2019)  photographed Native Canadian art work suspended in the Allan Gardens. This is the Allan Gardens in downtown Toronto (bounded by Carlton street on north, Gerrard street on south, Jarvis st on the west and Sherbourne on the west). I think this is a temporary exhibition and those of you living in Toronto should visit this and see to appreciate the beauty of these large art works.

Here are the photos of the unique art work of the native Canadians. ..(Anishnawbe?)It's on display now and has been on display for a number of days. This is possibly the first time, I am seeing art work, on display in the open, exposed to the elements of weather(hot sun, UV, rain, dust and bird droppings!) in a public garden, in the middle of a rough downtown area!

In the centre, are metal things maybe representing bells?

Above are shells stitched on to this fabric with applique work. The work above with shells is made by Sara Biscarra Dilly in 2019. It's linocut on canvas, and nylon photoprint, red abalone &  green abalone, artificial sinew and thread.

Above are deer bones, copper wire and fabric. These are creations of Eladia Smoke and Larissa Roque.

June 26, 2019 Early morning walk in Beechwood Park, Toronto

Went for a walk in Lower Don Parklands at end of Beechwood drive today morning.
Tried not to tread on snails on the road but impossible to avoid treading on them unless I walk with my head and eyes down.  I feel brief and intense regret each time I hear the crunch of the snail-shell under my feet.

Here are a few photos. The wild rose below was smelling heavenly as we walked by.

Below is a lovely silky looking grass. Taken with I presume reduced aperture?

Below is a bunch of yellow wild flowers.

Lavender color wild flowers below

This sea of flowers below was on a slope...but slopes seem to appear  than ground in my photos.

We may have walked about a kilometer today. Drove back home. Made chapatis to take to office for lunch and omelet for breakfast. A quick shower and then drive to work.

It would be lovely if we had this weather all year round.  And more importantly, possess this motivation for exercise,  will-power to wake  on time and get out of bed and go for a walk. What we did today looks simple to you maybe...but it's amazingly ideal and something we lazy !@#$ find impossible to do, early in the morning. I wonder how many more days we can keep up with this ideal routine?

If the fear of high cholesterol fades and the sense of 'safety' which comes when one is on medication kicks in, these new habits of walking in the morning may fade rather than habituate.

Walk in E.T.Seton Park, June 25, 2019

Walked in Seaton Park, at 6.30am, yesterday, June 25, 2019.
Thrilled to see rabbit in the park.

Below is a rose, growing just outside my front door. Snapped this lovely photo on phone on way out for walk. It's the light of the early morning sun at the top right corner.
Reduced the light in the camera...whatever the technical word for reducing light is, I don't know. And this rose is growing against the gray cinder-blocks of the basement wall. I love this photo. I think it's on of the best I have ever taken.

Walk by Pantry Park by Beaches, Toronto, June 23, 2019

Discovered a health condition after a physical  and made resolution to walk!
To me, walking  is a waste of time if I am walking for the sake of walking only. I need to take photos at least.
Here are a few I took today, on my early morning walk on the Boardwalk at Beaches Toronto.
Saw lots of people cycling, jogging, dog-walking and even two men scanning the sand with metal detectors! Two sets of people had set up a volleyball net and seemed to be getting ready to play.
I find photographing much more fun than walking.

A lonely slipper floating on Lake Ontario!

Above and below conch shells by lake Ontario! No. I did not find them by the lake...I (took them from home) placed them there to take these photos!

Change over time..in me

I have stopped rating books, TV shows and movies based on how much I "liked" them or "enjoyed" them. I rate them as ...
