Pedestrian Sunday Kensington market, May 26, 2019

Went for a 3 hour long stroll today at Kensington. Loved the sun, the atmosphere, the music by so many talented groups, the food. Bought 2 turtles in a garage sale at a home, at Kensington market!
A dollar each and it was a steal! It belonged to the seller's father who had collected hundreds of turtles from all over the world.

Bought a wonderful line drawing(print) from an artist at this show.
As usual, I photographed the graffiti art on the walls and fences of Kensington.

Below are some other things which caught my fancy

Above a unique looking volkswagen.

Above was a solo musician playing an African instrument. Very nice.
Above looks like a cactus and I didn't know this was edible! Seen at a Kensington vegetable shop

A brick pattern on a pavement at the Kensington.
Weed plants! But not for sale. They said we can learn to grow weed from them.

The stream of people walking by, the sun after a long winter, the music, the relaxed atmosphere and most of all, for some inexplicable reason the shop above reminded me of my holiday at Isla Mujeres near Cancun! I loved it there. I loved it here!

And below. A giraffe at Kensington!

Loved today's stroll. But our aging bodies were tired after the sun and walk. Came home and slept. Need more time to get the muscles moving after the winter hibernation.

Henna or black hair-dye... What to choose?

Fighting against age is a fierce and relentless battle we  fight when we sense youth slipping away like an eel between our fingers. The arsenal I use to fight age is not much...hair-dye and a short boyish haircut.

I don't know what makes me less idiotic-looking. Jet black hair (courtesy: black hair-dye) against my 'beginning-to-line' face or the golden carrot look of Henna dyed hair.
I am 'pro-natural' regarding most things. But   it's a big NO for 'natural looks' when it comes to the matter of my grey locks!

Recently, I am feeling really uncomfortable looking at  the unnatural blackness of my dyed hair in the mirror.  Yet, I can't bear the picture of  myself in the weirdly-coloured tint of the 'natural henna' either.
Somebody help! Please don't suggest brown hair-dye. it's nice but the roots look white and I don't like that either.

Floral offerings from my garden to the Gods

The above white-tinged-with-pink and are actually flowers from a grass!

The red flowers above are from my neighbour's garden.

The photo above was taken by my husband

Below are flowers gathered from the trails by the Don river where we walk.  Both of these flowers are considered weeds but are so pretty and the yellow one, called the common tansy even has a nice fragrance!

The above is from the giant hogweed plant. Here, the flower is still pretty small.

Above and below are leaves from a plant in my garden...I do not know it's name. These leaves have these reddish or purple-red spots on them. The spots are not uniform but appear to be randomly sprayed. I wonder what the name of this plant is and why these color stains on some (not all) leaves.

Above and below are Black-eyed Susan(Rudbeckia Hirta) from my garden. They grow in profusion, year after year and need no effort on my part except watering them. They look so cheerful and beautiful. They last long (more than a month) and bring a glow to my rather drab garden and joy to my heart!

below are the susans in my garden

I also have the Brown eyed susan (Rudbeckia Triloba) plant at home but this year, they are fewer in number and I did not manage to get the photos of the flowers in time.
I suppose these are the last flowers going into this blog article for this year 2020 as it's end of August/summer and I don't expect any more flowers blooming this year.

Above and below, mint flowers : they were tiny but smelt fragrant, if you holds thrust your nose close to these flowers.

It's fall now and here are some leafy offerings to the Gods.

Change over time..in me

I have stopped rating books, TV shows and movies based on how much I "liked" them or "enjoyed" them. I rate them as ...
