WHO IS THE WORLD'S BIGGEST ASSHOLE TODAY: PUTIN OR XI

Reading daily news from all over the world no longer gives me joy but anxiety, depression and a sense of hopelessness. But since the cowardly attack by Putin/Russia on a smaller neighbour, reading news has become even more painful and I just want to stay in bed and avoid knowing what's happening in the world.

Me and my friends would discuss who is the world biggest asshole. It would always be a competition between leaders-politicians of countries such as Russia, China, North Korea,  Burma and a whole lot of other repressive regimes. But now the top contender for this 'BIGGEST ASSHOLE IN THE WORLD' spot seems to be Putin.

My friend wanted to know why Putin does not have the balls to take on China.

He also wanted to know why Putin is a coward without balls sitting safe and cosy, not stepping out without an army guarding him. But Putin also has the stupidity and ignorance and gall to send untrained civilian Russians to fight HIS war...a war which no one other than him wants.

Does he want to destroy the world as he's aging i.e. nearing death's door and like a dog in the manger does not want others to have what he can't?  Would he have waged this war, had he found the elixir to immortality?

Durham Forest, Goodwin Ontario: October 8, 2022

Went to Durham Forest talk the trails and enjoy the fall colors.

The trees in the parking lot were so vividly colorful and we were excited that we would see magnificent colors so close home (Toronto) and there was no need to drive further up north.

But as we left the parking lot and walked the trail (maple trail) all we saw was a bit of yellow and tons of green. We did not see the vivid reds and oranges we had seen in the parking lot a few minutes ago!

In fact we had seen a lot more fall colours as we drove through the Don Valley parkway in Toronto than at Durham forest!

We did have a good time on the trails . We then visited the cute town Port Perry and enjoyed a nice lunch at Bamboo kitchen and bar and coffee at Nexus coffee co on queen street. We had a great time browsing in the lovely shops on queen street and the two used book stores. The ambiance in the Willow books store  was amazing! I went down the stairs and there was a ? store? studio selling crystal stones and other things. There was the most relaxing melodious music on and I thought I could sit here forever! Friendly staff too.

The other book store was Books galore which I also liked and spent very little time in as it was getting late.

Last we visited the Redman's antique barn and my husband picked up a wood carving tool there. Enjoyed browsing there and was reminded of the Lawrence antique market, in downtown Toronto which, sadly, no longer exists.

Below are photos from Port Perry.

I am not sure if the words Waabzheshii, Gwingwish, Ajiijaak and Adik are in Cree or Ojibwe.

Behind this building is lake Scugog. It is such a sad thing that this lake is unapproachable from the other side as it belongs to private people who have built huge houses by the lake and there is  no access to this lake from the other side.

Loved this distressed look green door above! Saw it on Queen street, in Port Perry.

Arctic/Amazon:Network of global indigeneity -The power plant contemporary art gallery, October 2, 2022

Visited this lovely art work exhibits by indigenous artists from south America and north. today

I was not only amazed to see their vivid art work and amazing creativity, but was disturbed to read/see/hear through their art works (including films and dances) the extent to which their civilizations have been disturbed by white people in so many parts of the world such as  the Sami tribe of reindeer herders in the Scandinavian countries, in Brazil and Peru in south America and so on.

Above relatively naive art...

The above art work consisting of threads in needles on wall reminded me of the minimalist works of art by a friend of mine, Prabhavathi Meppayil

Change over time..in me

I have stopped rating books, TV shows and movies based on how much I "liked" them or "enjoyed" them. I rate them as ...
