Elora and Fergus, visit on July 21, 2018

Wanted to go out 'somewhere'...if only to avoid the pending household chores of cleaning, laundry and cooking! Checked on Google and discovered two places, within driving distance from home, as yet unexplored! Elora and Fergus, two villages one hour 40 minutes drive away.
Packed idli, chutney, chicken saru, yelner, water, cherries and banana and off we went.

Here are a few photos.

Above is a lovely field on the way to Elora.
Went to Elora gorge first. The river flows through limestone gorge. There were caves in the walls of the gorge!

Above and below are photos of the river flowing with the limestone cliffs on either side

Above is a bridge at end over the flowing river
above is a part of the limestone cliff.  he flowing river has literally gored through the limestone with millions of years flowing I think. The width of the space where the river flows clearly shows how much rock has been gorged away over the years!
above and below ..a a pattern on the lime stone rock...green alge inbetween the lines.

above is a cave in the cliffside

below is another cave in the cliff. the green is the alge i think

above and below are patterns on the rock...I wonder what caused the swirly lines?

above and below are caves. I wish I had seen some creatures there !

I love the tenacity of this tree's will to live and grow!

 Roots more stubborn than humans!
Below is a place where people get married I think. To the left, the river flows and not in this photo. This is in the town of Elora.

I love this lovely green against the rock!

above and below is one of the many houses built using the local limestone .

Below are photos from the lovely Elora quarry. It's huge. Costs ten dollara per person to gain entry. One can swim, laze around in the waters. Some were diving off the cliff! families were picnicking, etc.

Below are trees on way to the quarry from the parking lot.

Change over time..in me

I have stopped rating books, TV shows and movies based on how much I "liked" them or "enjoyed" them. I rate them as ...
