Kensington Market, August 29, 2021

went to Kensington yesterday, August 29, 2021. Enjoyed strolling around and people watching there.

Walking around in the hot sun, people watching and window shopping, I was reminded of the time I spent in Mexico at Isla Mujeres in a December month of some year. Here are a few photos. We finally had a lovely lunch on a patio, watching people.

If I worked as a cashier in LCBO.....

Yesterday, we went to the Leeside LCBO store to pick a wine bottle stopper. I browsed through the bottles of wine, whisky, vodka, rum and so on, not because I am a connoisseur of alcohol but because I love the wonderful bottles...their unique shapes and lovely colours.

I thought to myself, that if I worked as a cashie in LCBO, I would probably ask the customers who got the bottles I liked to bring the empties to the store on their next visit and give it to me.

I wish there was someway I could access these bottles, cheaply (preferably free) and start my own bottle collection...I could use them as vases, store stuff, fill them with flowers from my garden and give them away to friends or even just display them.

Insect in my garden, August 24, 2021

This year, 2021 I did not water the patch of grass in my backyard.

During previous years,  for nearly 4-5 summer months, I daily watered the grass with a hosepipe (my neighbours have drip irrigation) as I found it relaxing and it was also something to do when I took my cat out on a leash.

For some reason this year, I never watered the grass and my husband did not mow. As a result weeds grew wild in my backyard. One thing that came of not watering and not mowing was that there were several insects in the garden and several types of insects. I considered photographing them and blogging them here but finally did not...I don't know anything about these insects...their names, whether they are good or destructive, etc.

But I made an exception of this guy above! He/she is so pretty. It was actually on my stomach, under my shirt! I was wondering why I am feeling itchy and checked and saw what seemed to be a dry leaf but it was this guy. I put him outdoors. I hope I did not break his legs or wings and hope he is alright.

Visit to Paris Ontario, August 21, 2021

Went to Paris, Ontario yesterday about a 2 hour drive from Toronto (lesser time if the 401 was not so slow). Had a nice time (would have been nicer if it had been less ot, if I had been more 'fit', so that I could have walked up and down the steep roads without feeling so tired)Had lunch by the Grand River in Cobblestone Public House's backyard patio.

Below a few homes built with cobblestones: pillars and foundation of cobblestones.

I missed a few houses which seemed to be built entirely of cobblestones

There are many of these flowerpots hanging on the bridges in Paris.

Below: the backs of the downtown buildings...backing on to the Grand River
Despite the buildings backing on to the river, and despite the river running in the heart of the city, the waters appear clear and one can see the bottom of this shallow river. Why can't people in countries like India keep their water sources clean like this? (before you comment, I am from India)
