Glen Stewart Ravine, Toronto. July 6, 2019

Getting bored with  walking in the same old trails near my home i.e. the various Don Valley trails. we decided to try walking in a new spot and after googling, cose the Glen Stewart Ravine close to the beaches at the east end of Toronto.
We left at 6am as it was predicted that today would be really hot(true!).
This is the first time ever we had the entire  trail to ourselves! Can you imagine, we were the only two walking on this trail, surrounded by trees, a brook flowing by, birds in the trees and not a soul around on this trail which is in  a thickly populated city like Toronto? We came across two other walkers only at the tail end of our walk.
If you are in Toronto, you should visit this area. The trail is okay...like a lot of other trails in Toronto. But the houses around the Glen Stewart ravine are so nice! Each house is at the top of a slope, they are not cookie-cutter houses like the other areas of Toronto, they have lovely gardens and it's so peaceful here. The people living here are really living in a little slice of heaven on earth.
I was here just a month ago for Beaches arts and craft show at Kew Garden and seen these houses then.
There are two sets of stairs in this trail which will give one a good workout as there are more than 100 steps to each of them. But the trail itself is pretty short and one can finish the trail in a very short time. (on the Don Valley trails and others, one can walk for several kilometers).
Here are a few photos from today.
Above and below are succulents growing on the 'compound wall' of the houses on either side of the Glen Stewart Ravine. They look good and need no care at all! They look pretty and are so low maintenance ...they don't need watering, fertilizing, pesticiding or anything

Discovered that we are so close to the beach after walk in the ravine and went down to the beach and rested a bit. If I lived here, I bet I would be motivated to walk daily and be more fit!

above and below are tiny blue flowers growing by the brook flowing in the ravine.  They look better in real than in these photos

Below is this squirrel whose front half of the body is black and the rear part is reddish!

 A man-made cave...made of collected wood

I don't know what these flowers are but there were  bumble bees (or some insects)buzzing inside of them

The rest of today, Saturday, I am lying under the fan, munching on cucumber, reading 'Blood shot',  and praying for the rains to come down and cool my furnace like house!
