2 weeks ago I subscribed to Britbox...because I was sick of the Trump-Musk news and needed a break ...before I went mad with despair

I have often been tempted to subscribe to more  shows ( I had only netflix till recently) by subscribing to things like Amazon prime, HBO, etc.

But I always avoided subscribing as I thought I would get addicted...I thought I will finally subscribe multiple channels after I retire....I thought it would be hedonistic and vaguely felt it wrong to watch too many shows.

However, since Trump got elected and I kept seeing on the news, on the internet, newspapers, magazines, simply, "everywhere".. his brazen theft, boasting, abusing his power and people suffering due to him...I started feeling so sick...I needed to escape..

So I subscribed to Britbox

Now I watch news a little less.

I am more at peace...actually not really...how can I be at peace, when I see those two evil shit-heads setting the world on fire

These are the shows which are taking me, for an hour or so at a time, away from the evil horror created by those two pieces of human feces.

Death in paradise

Shakespeare and Hathaway Liked the main characters a lot!

The inspector Lynley mysteries :Liked the main characters a lot!

Mc Donald & Dodds: Liked the main characters a lot!

Are you being served

Lewis

Father Brown

The Mallorca files

Vera

Sister Bonniface mysteries

Ballykissangel

Pie in the sky: My favorite!!!

Beyond paradise

Death Valley (this is new//only a couple of episodes...i love it)

It is such a soothing experience to watch these shows..where the characters are so charming, soft-spoken, polite, humane, classy, refined, elegant...everything that crass, clueless, arrogant, ignorant bumpkin lording over America is NOT!

shows from crave I like

Southern fried lies: seen one episode (I pray that it is free and I can see all the episodes.)

Duster: seen two episodes (I pray that it is free and I can see all the episodes.)

Bookie

started "this city is ours" (Crave on bell connection): I hope 1) that I can see all episodes (sometimes only first episode comes on and I cant see the rest as I have not subscribed to crave) 2) I hope it's good 3) I hope it's not too bleak, dark, etc...with all the shit in the world, thanks to Trump, Putin, Israel, etc...I can't take dystopia in entertainment world too!  I want light-hearted and funny and sweet and 'decent' and 'gentle'.

The lines from Julius Caesar I am reminded of today, the 250th year birthday of the American Army

"... why Brutus rose against Caesar, this is my answer: not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more... Had you rather Cae...
