Craigleith Provincial Park, Ontario May 15, 2021

Drove to Collingwood on May 15, 2021 morning. Decided to stay over at a motel so we could see a few places leisurely and not rush back, the same day, tired. We therefore booked on Expedia and stayed at Pleasant Manor motel (100.57$) for the night.

There are several provincial parks, the Georgian Bay, lakes, creeks, forests, etc. I chose to visit the Craigleith Provincial Park as it was supposed to have fossils and a beach made of shale rock.

After we roamed in the Craigleith Provincial Park beach, we went to Pretty River Provincial Park. we hiked a bit.

These photos are from the Craigleith Provincial Park.

I am fascinated by the thin layers , sitting on top of each other in this shale rock by the Georgian bay beach.

Above are fossils embedded in the shale rock on the beach of Craigleith Provincial park.
Below is the fragment of a fossil we found...we had to smash the rock several times to get it to open up and reveal the shape, hidden under and between the layers of the shale.
We broke only one rock. we did not break anything else!
