Minesing wetlands May 16, 2021

We went to Minesing wetlands today. We spent less than 15 minutes there as the track was too wet and muddy for us to proceed more than a few yards inside.

We hardly walked inside, though we took a whole lot of  trouble to get here.

1) the first route we came by (from Collingwood) became a really rough untarred road full of gravel for nearly 5 km and then there was a stop sign and we could not go any further!

We went back on that awful road and tried to go to the Minesing Wetlands again from a different route. This too was a rough gravel track for 3 km till we reached the wetlands. There was a sign but nothing else...no parking spots, noone collecting fees to enter this place, etc.

We took these lovely photos just inside that is just after the board stating 'Minesing wetlands'.  But we could not walk in much due to a strip of water flowing in the path and our clothes and footwear were not meant for walking in that water.

We saw a few bird walkers as this place is supposed to have birds. I was frustrated to give up as I am sure there would be a lot of interesting things to see and experience inside the wetlands. The board showed that many creeks run inside here, people can canoe inside this place, there are several species of birds and animals, here.

Apparently people get lost here, is what I read on the internet.

If you planning to see this conservation area which is between Barrie, and Collingwood be well-prepared for a rough road to reach this place, walking in wetlands need right footwear, very few people around here and so on.
